A Conversation About Your Eye Health

At the start of your appointment, you’ll be asked to complete forms about your vision and overall eye health. This information helps Dr. Duong understand any current concerns or symptoms before beginning your exam. If you’ve been seen by another eye doctor in the past, you can request that your previous records be sent to our office so we can review your history. Be sure to mention any medications you’re taking, as they can influence your eye comfort and vision.

A Thorough Vision and Eye Evaluation

Our team will perform several quick, comfortable tests to check the health of your eyes and look for any irregularities. You’ll also complete a standard vision check by reading letters from a chart to determine your prescription. Since you’re interested in contacts, we’ll also perform a contact lens fitting. This includes measuring the shape of your cornea, assessing your tear film, and identifying the type of lenses that will give you the best comfort and clarity. Ensuring the proper fit helps prevent irritation, blurred vision, and potential damage to the eye.

Trying On Contact Lenses

Most patients have the chance to try on trial lenses during their visit. Once you’ve been taught how to insert, remove, and care for them, we’ll check how the lenses sit on your eyes. In some cases, Dr. Duong may ask you to return in a week or two so we can make sure the lenses are still fitting well and your eyes are adjusting comfortably. If you notice any irritation or discomfort with your new lenses, please call us so we can evaluate your eyes and make adjustments if needed.
